Job summary

Liberty Mutual Insurance is seeking an experienced attorney to join our Texas-focused litigation team. This role is primarily remote in Texas with required appearances, handling moderately complex civil matters and DTPA-related cases on behalf of policyholders and the company.

The successful candidate will manage all phases of litigation, provide strategic oversight, mentor junior attorneys, and collaborate with Claims to control costs while upholding ethical standards.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) or LLB from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Texas bar and in good standing; board/federal licenses as required.
• Minimum 5 years of successful insurance attorney experience, preferably in first party property damage or Texas Deceptive Practices Act.
• Proven experience managing moderately complex litigation with favorable outcomes.
• Exceptional legal research, writing, negotiation, and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage all phases of litigation involving claims of moderate to heavy value.
• Draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents; lead settlement negotiations; participate in hearings and mediations.
