Job summary

Liberty Mutual Insurance is seeking an attorney to handle exclusive Texas DTPA matters pre- and post-litigation, with a focus on strategic oversight for specialty litigation.

The attorney will manage a focused caseload from assignment to resolution, including discovery, negotiations, hearings, and trial preparation, while mentoring junior staff and aligning with the company’s risk-management objectives.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor or LLB from an accredited law school.
• Bar admission in Texas and in good standing.
• Minimum of 5 years of insurance attorney experience.
• Proven experience managing moderately complex litigation.
• Strong research, writing, negotiation, and analytical skills.
• Proficiency with e-discovery tools, case management software, and remote collaboration tech.
• Ability to mentor and lead junior attorneys.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage all phases of litigation for moderate to heavy value claims.
• Lead settlement negotiations, participate in hearings, trials, and mediations.
• Develop and refine legal strategies for discovery, investigation, and trial preparation.
• Utilize e-discovery tools and case management systems to streamline workflows.
• Provide strategic legal advice to clients and Claims Representatives.
• Identify and mitigate legal risks with clients and senior attorneys.
• Train and mentor junior attorneys and staff.
• Ensure documents are prepared accurately and compliant with MRPC and regulations.
• Identify opportunities for process automation and efficiency.
