Job summary

Liberty Mutual Insurance seeks an attorney to handle Texas DTPA matters with a focus on pre- and post-litigation work. The role emphasizes dedicated representation and strategic oversight for specialty litigation across a focused caseload in Texas.

The attorney will manage case assessment, discovery, motions, negotiations, hearings, mediations, and trial preparation, ensuring efficient, consistent handling aligned with LM’s strategy and expenses.

Qualifications

• JD or LLB from an accredited law school.
• Bar admission in Texas and in good standing; specific boards/federal courts may require.
• Minimum 5 years insurance attorney experience, preferably in first party property damage or Texas Deceptive Practices Act.

Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of litigation for moderate to heavy value claims.
• Support Senior Trial Counsel and Senior Litigation Counsel through trial.
• Develop and refine advanced discovery, investigation, and trial strategies.
• Utilize e-discovery tools, case management systems, and data analysis software to streamline workflows.
• Provide clear, well-reasoned opinions and strategic advice to clients and Claims Representatives.
• Identify and mitigate legal risks in collaboration with clients and senior attorneys.
• Design trainings and mentor junior attorneys and legal staff.
• Prepare accurate, compliant legal documents and ensure MRPC adherence.
