Job summary

The Monarch School and Institute in Houston, TX seeks a dedicated educator to deliver therapeutic, evidence-based instruction to students with neurological differences. You will implement Monarch methods, collaborate with Therapy Services, and support individualized treatment plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Valid Teaching Certification per state requirements.
• Certification in Special Education.
• Certification in Elementary Education.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience teaching special education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement Monarch Integrated Mythology to strengthen relationships with students.
• Support student growth in the four core goals of the Monarch School.
• Learn and implement the Monarch Integrated Methodology; collaborate with Therapy Services and Therapeutic Support faculty.
• Collaborate on development and implementation of student treatment plans.
• Learn curriculum models as directed (e.g., social mapping, cognitive coaching, DIR®, sensory integration).
• Implement instructional strategies and programs as directed by academic leadership.
• Plan lessons addressing individual differences and learning styles.
• Support and coordinate students’ therapeutic agenda with Leadership Team.
• Report student progress in designated formats at set intervals.
• Supervise students during lunch, carpool, and off-campus activities.
• Facilitate a Student Committee if assigned.
• Support extracurricular and social events beyond the school day.
• Collaborate with Program Director to set yearly goals.
• Participate in ongoing professional education.
• Know and reference Faculty & Parent/Student Handbooks.
• Attend staff meetings and in-services; perform other duties.
