Job summary

Johnson Controls in New Freedom, PA is seeking an experienced Test Lab Supervisor for 2nd Shift to lead a talented team in a fast-paced, unionized testing environment. You will drive operational excellence, mentor employees, and foster a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

You will oversee daily lab operations, coordinate workloads, support employee growth, manage performance, and ensure work is completed efficiently and to the highest quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred; combination of education and experience will be considered.
• 5+ years of management experience in a heavy industrial or manufacturing setting.
• 3+ years as a supervisor with 15+ direct reports in manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily operation of key test lab areas while balancing customer needs with resources.
• Manage day-to-day operations including labor reporting, maintenance, 5S, and union issues.
• Address employee performance, corrective actions, and motivation/rewards.
• Support Health & Safety through safety committees, training, audits, and reports.
• Maintain resource allocation lists including assembler, welder, and electrician tasks.
• Ensure timekeeping and production systems accuracy (LODIS, MRP, Kronos).
• Maintain tracking logs for refrigerants and other gases; order as needed.
• Adhere to 2nd shift schedule: Monday–Friday 3:00pm–12:00am.
