Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking a Test Lab Facilities Engineering Manager at its Advanced Development and Engineering Center in New Freedom, PA.

You will lead planning, budgeting, and lifecycle management of HVAC test labs, while coordinating with cross-functional teams to deliver capital projects and lab infrastructure improvements. The role requires 8+ years in mechanical design for HVAC, strong project leadership, and US work authorization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 8+ years of mechanical design experience in HVAC.
• Experience managing capital projects, budgets, schedules, and contractors.
• Knowledge of mechanical systems, refrigeration, piping, utilities, and HVAC testing.
• Experience with engineering drawings, P&IDs, specs, RFQs, and documentation.
• Willingness to travel up to 15%.
• US citizen or permanent resident.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, budgeting, and lifecycle management of JADEC test labs.
• Develop designs, cost estimates, and BOMs for MRP projects.
• Coordinate with electrical and controls teams for HVAC test facilities.
• Manage multiple capital projects with scheduling and risk management.
• Ensure safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance across projects.
• Oversee commissioning and startup of lab systems.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams and external partners.
