Job summary

CapTech is seeking a mid-level Test Automation Engineer to join its Quality Engineering practice. You will design, build, and maintain automated test suites for web, mobile, and API systems as an embedded team member across client engagements.

The role emphasizes adaptability in a consulting environment, collaboration with developers, analysts, and stakeholders, and delivering measurable quality throughout the software lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 3–6 years of software quality engineering, with at least 2 years in test automation.
• Hands-on with modern UI automation tools (Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, or Cypress).
• Experience with API testing REST services, auth patterns, and contract/schema validation.
• Experience integrating automation into CI/CD with Git-based workflows.
• Strong understanding of agile delivery and defect management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to explain testing decisions to non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated functional, regression, and integration tests for web, mobile, and API layers.
• Build reusable test frameworks with page object, data-driven, and behavior-driven patterns.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD so every build signals quality.
• Translate acceptance criteria into clear, traceable test scenarios.
• Triage failing tests and distinguish defects from test instability or environment issues.
• Contribute to performance, accessibility, and security testing efforts.
• Define and report quality metrics to technical teams and client leadership.
• Mentor junior engineers and client team members on automation practices.
