CapTech is seeking a mid-level Test Automation Engineer to design, build, and maintain automated test suites for web, mobile, and API layers. You will work as an embedded member of cross-functional delivery teams, partnering with developers and analysts to make quality a continuous, measurable part of the software delivery lifecycle.

The role demands adaptability in a consulting environment with varying stacks from project to project, strong communication, and pragmatic automation strategies

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Three to six years of professional experience in software quality engineering, with at least two years focused on test automation.
• Proficiency in Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, or C# for automation.
• Hands-on experience with UI automation tools such as Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, or Cypress.
• Working knowledge of API testing (REST), authentication patterns, and contract/schema validation.
• Experience integrating automated suites into CI/CD and Git-based workflows.
• Solid understanding of agile delivery, SDLC, and defect management.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites for web, mobile, and API layers.
• Build and extend reusable test frameworks using page object, data-driven, and behavior-driven patterns.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to provide meaningful quality signals.
• Translate acceptance criteria into clear, traceable test scenarios.
• Triage failing tests and distinguish defects from test instability or environment issues.
• Contribute to performance, accessibility, and security testing efforts.
• Define and report quality metrics to technical teams and client leadership.
• Mentor junior engineers and client team members on automation practices and test design.
