Job summary

CapTech is seeking a mid-level Test Automation Engineer to join our Quality Engineering practice in Denver. You will design, build, and maintain automated test suites spanning web, mobile, and API-driven systems, embedding with cross-functional teams to make quality a continuous, measurable part of software delivery.

The role requires adapting to changing tech stacks across engagements, with emphasis on pragmatic automation that delivers value within engagement timelines and strong client

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.
• 3–6 years in software quality engineering with at least 2 years in test automation.
• Proficiency in at least one automation language (Java, JS/TS, Python, or C#).
• Hands-on experience with UI automation tools (Selenium, Playwright, or Cypress).
• Knowledge of API testing, REST, auth patterns, and contract validation.
• Experience integrating automation into CI/CD and Git-based workflows.
• Understanding of Agile SDLC and defect management.
• Strong communication for non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test suites for web, mobile, and API layers.
• Build reusable frameworks with page object, data-driven, and BDD patterns.
• Integrate tests into CI/CD pipelines for meaningful quality signals on each build.
• Translate acceptance criteria into clear, traceable test scenarios.
• Triage failures, identify root causes, distinguish defects from env issues.
• Contribute to performance, accessibility, and security testing efforts.
• Report quality metrics to technical teams and client leadership.
• Mentor junior engineers and client teams on best practices.
• Participate in agile ceremonies and sprint planning to advocate testability.
