Job summary

CopperPoint Insurance Companies in the United States seeks a Workers Compensation Production Underwriter to manage an agency territory and a book of business, focusing on profitable growth, renewal retention, and strong service.

You will lead new business development, risk selection, pricing, and agency relationships within delegated authority, while collaborating with underwriting leadership and cross-functional partners.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of commercial property and casualty underwriting experience preferred, with workers compensation underwriting experience strongly preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; professional designation preferred but not required.
• Experience managing agency relationships, producer pipelines, or territory plans is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Owns an assigned agency territory and book of business with accountability for profitable new business production and retention.
• Evaluates workers compensation submissions by analyzing class codes, exposures, payroll, and loss history.
• Prices new and renewal business following underwriting and pricing guidelines while balancing growth and profitability.
• Develops and manages agency partnership plans, including goals, pipeline management, and profitability improvement.
• Conducts regular agency visits and producer meetings to communicate appetite and strategy.
