Job summary

Common Threads Charitable Donation Services is seeking a Site Selection Specialist based in Charlotte, NC. You will identify donation drop box locations, build relationships with property owners, and spend significant time on the road to place sites that drive charitable giving.

You’ll manage your territory independently, travel frequently (minimum 2 weeks per month), and compete to win prime site placements while delivering strong results and maintaining a professional, positive image.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of outside sales, business development, or relationship-building experience.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and networking skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage your territory, and meet weekly goals.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and clean driving record.
• Positive, professional, self-motivated, and results-driven mindset.
• Ability to spend 6-8 hours per day in the field.
• Comfortable with rejection and persistent follow-up to close agreements.

Responsibilities

• Identify and secure locations for donation drop boxes across your territory.
• Cold call, email, and meet with business owners, property managers, and community organizations to secure site placements.
• Conduct 20 site visits per day, with a focus on high-impact locations.
• Record all activity in the company CRM accurately and in real time.
• Travel frequently across your assigned territory (minimum 2 weeks per month; schedule may vary).
• Walk properties, take photos, and assess site layouts for best bin placements.
• Compete against existing donation bin operators to win and secure site placements.
• Evaluate site potential based on traffic patterns, accessibility, and projected donation volume.
• Own and develop your donation bin territory as a business, building a pipeline of future sites.
• Represent Common Threads with professionalism, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude.
