Job description

A growing equipment manufacturer is seeking a Territory Sales Representative to drive business growth across a multi-state territory throughout the Pacific Northwest region. This is a field-based role focused on developing new business, strengthening existing customer relationships, and expanding market share throughout the assigned region.

The ideal candidate is a true hunter with a proven track record of building territories, identifying new opportunities, and closing business. This role requires someone who enjoys being on the road, has prior experience managing a travel-intensive territory, and is comfortable spending approximately 50% of their time visiting customers, distributors, and industry events.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a strategic growth plan for the assigned multi-state territory
  • Prospect and secure new customers while expanding relationships with existing accounts
  • Identify new market opportunities and grow market share through consultative selling
  • Manage the complete sales cycle, including prospecting, presentations, proposals, negotiations, and closing
  • Build long-term relationships with distributors, dealers, end users, and key decision-makers
  • Conduct regular customer visits, product demonstrations, and business reviews throughout the territory
  • Collaborate with internal sales, engineering, customer support, and operations teams to deliver outstanding customer service
  • Monitor competitive activity, industry trends, and customer needs to identify growth opportunities
  • Maintain accurate sales forecasts, CRM activity, and pipeline reporting
  • Represent the company at trade shows, customer events, and industry meetings
Qualifications
  • Previous B2B outside sales experience within heavy equipment, industrial equipment, manufacturing, OEM, or related industries
  • Proven success growing a territory through new business development and relationship management
  • Hunter mentality with a demonstrated ability to generate new opportunities and consistently exceed sales goals
  • Previous experience managing a travel-based territory with approximately 50% travel required
  • Strong presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage a large geographic territory
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills
  • Proficiency with CRM software and Microsoft Office
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively throughout the assigned region
