Job summary

STERLING SEARCH PARTNERS is seeking a motivated Sales Representative to expand business within an assigned territory. The role involves identifying opportunities, building relationships with prospective and existing customers, and guiding them through the full sales cycle.

You will travel extensively (70-80%), work independently in the field, and collaborate with the sales team to meet aggressive targets. A Bachelor's degree and 2+ years in B2B sales are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing or related field preferred.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • 2+ years of experience in sales, business development, or a related role preferred.
  • Experience selling services or solutions in a B2B environment is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a strategic plan for an assigned sales territory.
  • Identify opportunities and adjust sales strategies using market data.
  • Prospect for new business through research, networking, calls, and meetings.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified prospects.
  • Manage opportunities from initial contact through proposal, negotiation, and closing.
  • Communicate how services address customer needs and manage CRM records.
  • Prepare proposals, presentations, and customer documentation to support the sales process.
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts and report pipeline status.
  • Travel within the territory to develop relationships and close deals.

We are seeking a motivated and relationship-driven Sales Representative to expand business within an assigned territory. This individual will be responsible for identifying new opportunities, developing relationships with prospective and existing customers, understanding customer needs, and recommending solutions that deliver value.

The successful candidate will be comfortable working independently in the field, managing a full sales cycle, and developing new business while maintaining strong customer relationships.

Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Territory Growth
  • Develop and execute a strategic plan for an assigned sales territory.
  • Use market information, customer feedback, and sales activity data to identify opportunities and adjust sales strategies.
  • Prospect for new business through research, networking, outbound calls, appointments, and in-person meetings.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified prospective customers.
  • Manage opportunities from initial contact through proposal, negotiation, and closing.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the company's services and effectively communicate how available solutions address customer needs.
  • Identify customer challenges and recommend appropriate services or solutions.
  • Consistently work toward established sales goals and performance objectives.
  • Follow the company's defined sales process while adapting communication and sales techniques to individual customer needs.
  • Collaborate with other members of the sales team to support overall company objectives and territory performance.

This position does not include direct personnel management responsibilities.

Customer & Relationship Development
  • Develop and maintain productive relationships with both prospective and existing customers.
  • Organize daily and weekly activities to maximize time spent developing new business and maintaining customer relationships.
  • Conduct regular outreach through phone calls, meetings, appointments, and other business development activities.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the company's services and industry offerings.
  • Respond to customer questions, concerns, and objections in a knowledgeable and professional manner.
  • Build credibility and trust by providing responsive service and a solution-focused approach.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activity, customer interactions, opportunities, and pipeline status.
  • Prepare proposals, presentations, reports, customer documentation, and other materials necessary to support the sales process.
  • Utilize CRM and sales management systems to document activity and manage opportunities.
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts and other information as requested.
  • Perform additional responsibilities and projects as assigned.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • Two or more years of experience in sales, business development, customer service, account management, project management, or a related customer-facing environment preferred.
  • Experience selling services or solutions in a business-to-business environment is a plus.

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to clearly communicate with customers, coworkers, and management in both written and verbal formats.
  • Comfortable presenting information and discussing solutions with prospective customers.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience using CRM platforms and sales management software.
  • Comfortable maintaining electronic records, preparing reports, and managing customer information.
Additional Requirements
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
  • This position requires approximately 70-80% travel.
  • Overnight travel may occasionally be required.
