Job summary

Graybar Electric Company is seeking an Outside Sales Representative to grow our presence in a specialized market. You will develop new prospects and maintain contact with existing customers, regularly visiting them at their sites or other off-site locations.

The role requires 3+ years in the industry, a 4-year degree preferred, and strong negotiation and sales skills. Expect extensive travel, a starting pay of $50,000 with incentive potential, and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years industry-specific experience; 4+ years preferred.
• 4 year degree preferred.
• Knowledge of business administration, sales, and marketing.
• Negotiation skills.
• Ability to learn our business and work independently to achieve goals.
• Ability to sell and be persuasive.
• Extensive travel required, including some overnight travel.

Responsibilities

• Meet or exceed annual gross margin budget by promoting and selling products in the territory.
• Handle customer complaints promptly and report potential claims.
• Keep management informed of local competition and market conditions.
• Carry out sales and merchandising programs and suggest new items for stock.
• Maintain current customer records and assist in past due collections.
• Participate in training sessions, trade shows, and sales meetings.
• Demonstrate products after sale when necessary.
