Job summary

Alta Equipment Group is seeking a full-time Compact Equipment Specialist to report out of our Tampa, FL branch and cover Hillsborough and Pinellas counties. The role focuses on selling and renting compact equipment, driving new business, and increasing market share in the region.

The position requires knowledge of construction equipment, strong sales and communication skills, and the ability to meet both sales and rental targets while upholding Alta’s guiding principles.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 2 years of previous related experience.
• Must reside in Hillsborough or Pinellas Counties.
• Outstanding sales skills is a must.
• A basic understanding of financing is desired.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Ability to multi-task and solve problems.
• Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written.
• Professionalism is a must.
• Safety awareness is essential.
• Knowledge of construction equipment, their application, and safety.
• Good computer skills with a focus on Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Language Skills - Intermediate: reading, writing, and speaking abilities.
• Mathematical Skills - Intermediate: basic algebra and geometry.
• Reasoning Ability - Intermediate; able to apply common sense in instructions.
• Equipment Operation: operate skid steers, mini excavators, compact wheel loaders, telehandlers, compactors and attachments.

Responsibilities

• Selling compact equipment.
• Rent compact and contractor equipment.
• Drive new business.
• Demo units to accounts.
• Increase market share.
• Turn in sales reports / hotlists.
• Collect money on past due rental and sales.
• Meet sales and rental goals.
• Communicate with management on market demand.
• Incorporate Alta's Guiding Principles into daily activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Maintain consistent attendance and be ready for work at start time.
