Job summary

Alta Equipment Group is seeking a Compact Equipment Specialist out of the Tampa, FL branch to cover Hillsborough and Pinellas counties. You will drive the compact market, demo units, and build relationships with customers while meeting sales and rental targets.

The role requires a minimum of 2 years related experience, strong sales skills, and a focus on safety and professionalism. Training and a comprehensive benefits package are provided to support growth.

Responsibilities:

Our construction equipment group is seeking a full-time Compact Equipment Specialist to report out of our Tampa, FL branch and cover Hillsborough and Pinellas, Florida counties. This position will be responsible for developing and growing the compact market and increasing the market share in the territory. The primary responsibilities of the position consist of, but are not limited to:

• Selling compact equipment
• Rent compact and contractor equipment
• Drive new business
• Demo units to accounts
• Increase market share
• Turn in sales reports / hotlists
• Collect money on past due rental and sales
• Meet expected sales goals
• Meet expected rental goals
• Communicate with management on demand in market
• Incorporate Alta's Guiding Principles into daily activities
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Consistent, regular, and reliable attendance including being ready for work at the designated start time

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 2 years of previous related experience
• Must reside in Hillsborough or Pinellas Counties
• Outstanding sales skills is a must
• A basic understanding of financing is desired
• Excellent time management skills
• Ability to multi-task and solve problems
• Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written
• Professionalism is a must
• Safety awareness is essential
• Knowledge of construction equipment, their application, and safety
• Good computer skills with a focus on Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
• Language Skills - Intermediate: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
• Mathematical Skills - Intermediate: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
• Reasoning Ability - Intermediate; Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Equipment Operation: Ability to operate skid steers, mini excavators, compact wheel loaders, telehandlers, compactors, and specialized attachments for construction equipment.
