Job summary

South Dakota State University in Brookings invites applications for a 9-month, full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Exercise Science. The position focuses on teaching in undergraduate and graduate programs and building an externally funded research program.

The appointee will mentor student researchers, contribute to service activities, and collaborate across disciplines to advance health, exercise science, and community outreach.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in Exercise Science, Exercise Physiology, or closely related field completed by date of application
• Record of research publications and grantsmanship proportionate with experience
• Demonstrated preparation to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in exercise science and related areas

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in the Exercise Science programs
• Establish an independent, externally funded research program
• Mentor graduate and undergraduate students
• Provide professional service and leadership
