Job summary

AustinTexas is seeking a Drainage Operations and Maintenance Assistant to support routine maintenance and construction of storm drainage infrastructure. The role involves equipment upkeep, traffic control, concrete form building, landscaping, and storm water management in open waterways, with safety and CDL training opportunities.

Work may require after-hours and weather-event shifts; you will report to the Open Waterways section and coordinate with city staff and the public to ensure safe,

Qualifications

• Six months experience in maintenance, construction or concrete work.
• Valid Class C driver's license with a good driving record.
• Ability to read, write and follow instructions.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventative and minor maintenance on equipment and reports issues.
• Builds concrete forms and performs road maintenance tasks including asphalt and concrete work.
• Assists with traffic control at job sites and safety procedures.
• Maintains daily logs and participates in on-the-job training including CDL obtainment.
• Responds to emergencies during after-hours as required.
