Job summary

Meridian Charter Schools is seeking a Temporary Special Education Coordinator – MAT to lead and coordinate specialized services during maternity leave across Chicago campuses, ensuring compliant programs and strong instructional support.

Reports to the Deputy Chief Education Officer, the role manages caseloads, provides professional development, mentors staff, and leads MTSS initiatives to boost student achievement while traveling across campuses and the network office.

Qualifications

• Active ISBE Endorsement for LBS1 and ESL/Bilingual.
• Master's degree in Education, Special Education, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience in an educational setting.
• Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate specialized services across campuses.
• Provide professional development for special education staff.
• Coach on MTSS implementation and progress monitoring.
• Ensure compliance with IDEA and Section 504 and other regulations.
• Collaborate with the Deputy Chief Education Officer and school teams.
