Job summary

Chicago Public Schools (CPS) seeks a Special Education Coordinator to drive systemic improvements in instructional supports for students with disabilities. You will coordinate coaching for teachers, lead professional development, and ensure IEPs are implemented in compliance with legal and CPS standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field required.
• Master's degree in Special Education or Educational Leadership preferred.
• PEL with Special Education endorsement required.
• General Administrative Endorsement (Type 75) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver coaching for special education teachers, paraprofessionals, and school leaders.
• Model inclusive practices across classrooms and networks.
• Lead professional learning on evidence-based strategies for effective instruction.
• Ensure IEP implementation aligns with federal, state, and CPS policies.
• Analyze data for IEP development and planning to drive improvement.
• Develop network action plans and partner with schools to support equitable instruction.
