Job summary

State of Minnesota, Transportation Department, District 6, seeks Temporary Snowplow Operators for emergency and snow/ice operations across multiple MN locations. Positions include Transportation Generalist and Transportation Associate classifications with hourly wages and potential for night and weekend work during snow events.

These intermittent, emergency roles require valid CDLs, strict compliance with drug/alcohol policies, and the ability to report within one hour of call.

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid Class A or B CDL with no Airbrake Restriction.
• Obtain Class A CDL with no Airbrake Restriction and Tanker Endorsement within 6 months.
• Must pass pre-placement drug test and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Maintain roadways for snow and ice control.
• Prepare and inspect winter equipment.
• Perform preseason snow route inspection and post-storm cleanup.
• Set up winter stockpile and transfer anti-icing/de-icing chemicals.
• Install, repair, maintain and remove snow fences and mailboxes.
• Document snow and ice data for inventory and resource management.
• Set up traffic control and notify dispatch of disabled vehicles.
