Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) District 6 seeks to fill up to 32 temporary and/or emergency snowplow operator positions across Austin, Dresbach, Red Wing, Stewartville, and Winona.
Shifts typically include nights; temporary staff may work part-time or full-time, with potential overtime and weekend work. CDL with no Airbrake restriction is required and tanker endorsement must be obtained within 6 months of placement.
MnDOT District 6 may fill up to 32 temporary and/or emergency snowplow operator positions in various district truck stations throughout the district. These positions will be filled in in the following locations:

During a snow & ice season a snowplow shift is typically an A shift (12:00am-12:00pm) or B shift (12:00pm-12:00am); an employee may be asked to work more than an 8-hour shift depending on the length of the snow event. Temporary employees may work full-time or part-time (2-5 days, M-F, 7:00am - 3:30pm) or they work a snow & ice shift; snow & ice shifts can occur on regularly scheduled workdays and scheduled days off, including Saturday and Sunday. Emergency employees are intermittent fill in drivers; they work a snow & ice shift, filling in for regular operators who are not available. Hours of work may include overtime, various shifts depending on emergency situations and will include working nights, weekends and holidays. Incumbents must have immediate access to a phone and be able to report to work within one-hour of being called.
