Your Role on the Team

Covered under University series concepts/job specification for Emergency Department Admin Assistant. This recruitment is for the Temporary Emergency Department Admin Assistant position through UCI's internal temporary staffing department. This is a temporary position which is expected to run through September (exact dates to be determined). As this is a special project, pay rates have been increased for the duration of the project only (see compensation information below). Working Hours: 6pm-630pm, 3 days per week, alternating weekends, every other week with other team members. M/T/F or F/Sat/Sun.

The Emergency Department secretary/monitor technician provides clerical support to the nurses, physicians, and Department Director. In addition to the timely and efficient initiation of patient care orders. The incumbent is responsible for coordinating communication within the department and hospital. The incumbent will maintain par levels of necessary office and chart supplies and follow through with equipment repair and maintenance.

Required

What It Takes to be Successful

  • Timely and efficient initiation of patient care orders.
  • 1-3 years of previous relevant experience.
  • Medical/Front Office experience.
  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology.
  • Knowledge of Medical Billing.
  • BLS Certified (must be obtained from American Heart Association) required.

Pay Rate: $22.12 + Night Shift Differential $1.41.

TEMPORARY EMPLOYMENT

This is a temporary employment recruitment reporting to the UCI Temporary Employment Services (TES) Department. Interviewing and hiring is based on internal hiring needs and how well the candidate's experience matches the assignment requirements.Certaintemporary assignments may require clearance of a health physical or require a valid California Driver’s License for driving university vehicles.

The majority of our temporary positions are Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. We also have occasional part-time, weekend, and evening hours available, depending on the assignment. Comprehensive benefits options are also available for temporary employees, including paid vacation, holidays, and sick leave.
