Job summary

Robinwood Retirement Community in Charleston, SC seeks a Temporary Dishwasher/Kitchen Prep to support residents with a clean, efficient dining environment. The role involves preparing and stocking a salad bar, assisting in the dining room, and maintaining hygiene in the dish area.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Temporary assignment lasting a few weeks to months.
• Able to work Tue–Sat 11:30am–8:00pm.
• Able to read, speak and understand basic English.
• No prior culinary experience required.
• Able to obtain food handler permits within two weeks.”

Responsibilities

• Operate the dish machine: load, run, unload, and report issues; monitor water temps for sanitation.
• Wash, store, and handle all tableware and kitchenware; keep dish room organized and stocked.
• Assist in dining room: bussing tables, refilling water, preparing tables before meals, delivering room-service orders.
• Safely use ovens, steamers, grills and kitchen tools including sharp utensils.
• Listen to and respond politely to food comments or complaints; report concerns to leadership.
• Perform support tasks including trash removal.
