Volunteer State Community College seeks a Maintenance Associate to perform skilled building, electrical, plumbing and carpentry tasks ensuring a safe, clean campus and learning environment.

The role covers a variety of maintenance duties with emphasis on equipment installation, repairs and safety, plus moving furniture for events and routine building upkeep.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• One year of related maintenance experience preferred.
• Knowledge of carpentry, electrical, plumbing and safety practices.

Responsibilities

Job Summary:

To perform a variety of skilled maintenance tasks and repairs toensure a smoothly run campus and learning environment.

Job Duties:

Install electrical conduit, wiring, switching devices, controls,outlets, fixtures, motors, and other similar equipment. Performplumbing to include assembling, installing, repairing; pipes,fittings, and fixtures of heating, water, and sewer systems,opening clogged drains. Perform carpenter duties which include thealteration, repair, and maintenance of buildings, floors, roofs,stairways, partitions, doors, windows, scaffolding forms, woodfixtures and furniture. Maintain tools in a clean and workingcondition and observe safety procedures when using tools. Completefurniture moves to include event set-ups/break-downs Maintainbuilding appearance and cleanliness of buildings and grounds. Otherduties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications:

One year of related experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of carpentry tools, electrical, plumbing, and other maintenance practices.

Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions.

Pay Rate:

$34,736 - $41,684 annual salarydepending on experience
