About Scheck Hillel Community School

Scheck Hillel Community School, a large Orthodox Jewish community school located in sunny North Miami Beach, Florida, is currently accepting resumes for an experienced full-time Temporary Human Resources Assistant.

Position Summary

The Human Resources Assistant will support the HR department by performing a variety of administrative and clerical tasks to ensure smooth operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, a commitment to confidentiality, and a passion for supporting the educational environment.

This is a leave replacement position beginning in mid-June 2025 and concluding in mid-September or October 2025.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records and files, both digital and physical.
  2. Assist with recruiting tasks, including candidate references, new employee files, and onboarding.
  3. Provide support during employee orientation sessions and assist new staff with paperwork.
  4. Assist employees with benefits enrollment and questions; act as a liaison with benefits providers.
  5. Serve as an initial point of contact for employee inquiries related to HR policies and procedures.
  6. Data entry related to PTO requests and professional development activities.
  7. Time sheet reconciliation.
  8. Respond to external verification of employment requests.
  9. Participate in special projects or initiatives as needed.
  10. Assist with event planning for employee engagement and staff development activities.
  11. Submit invoices for the HR department.
  12. Keep track of fingerprinting results.
Qualifications
  1. High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field preferred.
  2. Previous experience in an entry-level HR role. Experience in educational or non-profit settings is a plus.
  3. Customer service experience.
  4. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  5. Excellent written/verbal communication and basic mathematical skills.
  6. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and HRIS software preferred.
  7. Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  8. Fluent Spanish language ability is a plus.
