Base pay range

$18.00/hr - $23.00/hr

Brown and Buchanan Ventures Company is a veteran-owned franchise in the vacation rental property management industry, operating across multiple states, including Tennessee, South Carolina, Texas, Colorado, and California. We specialize in providing top-tier property management solutions, ensuring a seamless experience for property owners and guests alike.

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Human Resources Assistant to join our team on a part-time basis. This role will focus on supporting employee recruitment, streamlining the onboarding process, and assisting with various administrative tasks. The HR Assistant will work closely with the HR manager to ensure smooth day-to-day operations, optimize recruitment efforts, and maintain compliance with HR policies and procedures. This position is pivotal in enhancing our onboarding experience, fostering a positive work environment, and supporting overall HR functions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist HR Manager in all HR-related efforts.
  • Assist in recruitment efforts by posting job openings, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and conducting reference checks.
  • Support onboarding processes for new hires, including conducting orientation sessions and ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed.
  • Support employee benefit programs, including enrollment, changes, and inquiries.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR databases to ensure compliance with legal requirements.
  • Provide administrative support to HR functions, including drafting HR policies, procedures, and communications.
  • Support in monitoring and processing personnel time records, including leave requests and reports.
  • Assist in employee relations matters, including performance management.
  • Assist in coordinating and facilitating training sessions and workshops for employees on various HR-related topics.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Handle other HR-related duties and projects as assigned.


Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Proven experience as an HR Assistant or similar role, preferably in a remote or virtual work environment.
  • Proficiency through work experience or coursework in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) required.
  • Solid understanding of HR practices and principles, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and compliance.
  • Proficiency in HRIS and HR management software (e.g., Paycor, BambooHR, etc.).
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.


Preferred Qualifications

  • HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus.
  • 2 years in a Human Resources Assistant capacity.
  • Experience in a startup or fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with remote work tools and technologies.
