Job summary

Township of Schaumburg seeks a Temporary Food Pantry Staff member to support day-to-day pantry operations, including stocking shelves, refrigerators, and fresh produce while upholding food safety standards. The role interacts with donors, volunteers, clients, and community partners, representing the Township professionally.

The position is temporary, with hours during peak periods; duties include assisting with donations, maintaining cleanliness, and supporting service delivery to residents.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Experience in customer service, food handling, or community-based operations preferred.
• Bilingual fluency in Spanish, Hindi, Polish, Russian, Bulgarian, or Ukrainian is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and organize pantry shelves, refrigerators, freezers, and produce displays in compliance with food sanitation standards.
• Assist with sorting, stocking, and preparing donations for resident distribution.
• Support pantry cleanliness and organization, including storage spaces.
• Assist donors with donations and ensure proper handling and documentation.
• Maintain resident privacy and confidentiality of information.
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with staff, volunteers, clients, and donors.
