Job summary

Catholic Charities Diocese of Springfield Illinois seeks a full-time Pantry Coordinator to operate and maintain the community food pantry and provide crisis grocery assistance to those in need. You will prepare orders, check items, stock shelves, and ensure safe, respectful service.

You will recruit, train, and supervise volunteers; maintain daily records; coordinate donor pickups; and collaborate with staff and partners to support nutrition and emergency food programs across central Illinois.

Qualifications

• Ability to accept instructions and apply them logically and responsibly.
• Sensitivity and respect for populations from diverse backgrounds and the Catholic Charities mission.
• Must be able to lift 30 lbs.
• Must have a valid driver's license and the ability to drive the pantry box truck.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food orders for distribution.
• Answer phone regarding pantry issues.
• Be on hand when food arrives and check items for usability and stock shelves.
• Carry in food as needed.
• Keep daily records (volunteer and daily disbursement sheets).
• Pick up food from donors, Food Bank, or stores as required.
• Maintain and order supplies.
• Maintain pantry with regular cleaning schedule.
• Take out pantry trash.
• Maintain pantry equipment and alert supervisor for maintenance.
