This is more than managing a food pantry. It's about helping older adults and local residents access nutritious food, coordinating volunteers, building partnerships with local businesses and organizations, organizing food drives, and finding creative ways to strengthen food security throughout our community.
Every day is different, and every day you'll know your work truly mattered.
The Food Pantry Coordinator will work in a pantry setting, which may involve exposure to varying temperatures, especially in storage areas for refrigerated and frozen items. This role requires standing, walking, bending, and lifting food items weighing up to 50 pounds. The environment can be fast-paced, particularly during peak distribution times or special events. Flexibility in hours, including occasional evenings or weekends, may be necessary to accommodate food drives or emergency assistance programs. Interacting with the public, volunteers, and community partners is a key aspect of the role, requiring excellent interpersonal skills and professionalism.
