Express Employment Professionals is recruiting for a Temporary Accounting Specialist with the City of Redmond! This position will support the City's Utility Billing & Collections team and is an excellent opportunity for someone with accounting, bookkeeping, billing, or customer service experience.

The role combines accounting, customer service, data entry, cash handling, and general office support. Based in Redmond, OR, the position is Monday–Friday, temporary, full-time, for approximately 2–3

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Associate degree in Business Administration or Accounting plus relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• At least 12 months of customer service experience working with the general public.
• Accounting, bookkeeping, billing, or cash-handling experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist utility customers with billing questions and account information.
• Receive and process customer payments.
• Set up and maintain customer accounts.
• Enter customer information and work orders into the financial system.
• Calculate payments, outstanding balances, and payoff figures.
• Operate and balance a cash drawer and accurately account for daily funds.
• Prepare routine spreadsheets, reports, and account documents.
• Identify and correct errors or discrepancies.
• Perform filing, sorting, mail processing, and other general office duties.
• Provide backup support to other members of the Utility Billing & Collections team.
