Job summary

Minnetonka Public Schools is seeking a paraprofessional to support individualized instruction for special education students. The role is 6.5 hours per day on a temporary basis through approximately mid-November 2026, with a minimum hourly rate of $24.31 for 2026-2027.

Responsibilities include assisting with self-care tasks, operating assistive devices, collecting data, and contributing to behavior management plans. Training and district program participation are required as needed.

Qualifications

• Must meet highly qualified status as defined by MDE on day 1 of employment.
• Completion of Personal Care Assistant Training certification (Minnesota DHS).
• Experience supporting student instruction in classrooms preferred.
• Knowledge of behavior modification strategies including restitution and resiliency.

Responsibilities

• Support, modify and monitor individualized instruction for special education students.
• Assist with self-care tasks; provide basic medical procedures as directed by licensed staff.
• Operate and supervise assistive devices and equipment.
• Apply behavior management techniques to prevent or address self-destructive behaviors.
• Attend IEP and school meetings as requested.
• Record observational data and monitor student attendance daily.
