Job summary

Minnetonka Public Schools is hiring a Paraprofessional/Special Education Para for Groveland Elementary. This benefit-eligible position runs 6.5 hours per day, 184 days per year, with a starting hourly rate of $24.31.

Responsibilities include assisting in instruction, supporting students with self-care tasks, and monitoring behavior under supervision. The role requires CPI knowledge, data privacy compliance, and collaboration with teachers and staff in both regular and special education settings.

Qualifications

• Must meet highly qualified status as defined by the MDE on day one of employment.
• Certification in Personal Care Assistant Training completed as part of pre-employment.

Responsibilities

• Support, modify and monitor individualized instruction in academic, functional, or behavior programs for special education students in 1:1 or small groups.
• Assist students with self-care tasks; lifting and basic medical procedures under direction of an LSN.
• Operate special education equipment and supervise safe use.
• Apply student management techniques to prevent self-destructive behaviors.
• Participate in IEP and school conferences as requested.
• Write observational data, maintain logs, and monitor attendance daily.
• Perform other duties as needed and participate in training programs for paraprofessionals.
