Job summary

Minnetonka Public Schools is seeking a Paraprofessional/Early Childhood Special Ed Para to support students at the Minnetonka Community Education Center. The position runs Tue, Wed, Thu from 8:45 to 11:45 a.m., totaling 9 hours weekly, with a minimum hourly wage of $24.31 and no benefits.

The role involves assisting with instruction, self-care tasks, and behavior support under supervision. Applicants should meet MDE qualifications and complete required PCA training during pre-employment.

Qualifications

• Must meet highly qualified status as defined by MDE from day one.
• Certification in Personal Care Assistant Training required during pre-employment.
• Experience supporting early childhood students preferred.
• Knowledge of behavior modification strategies preferred.
• Training in CPI strategies preferred.
• Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team.
• Ability to record observational data and maintain logs and charts.
• Commitment to data privacy and confidentiality requirements.

Responsibilities

• Support and monitor individualized instruction for students in small groups or 1:1.
• Assist with self-care tasks; position, feed, dress, toileting; perform basic medical tasks if directed.
• Operate and supervise wheels, AAC devices, and assistive tech.
• Apply classroom management techniques to prevent self-destructive behaviors.
• Attend IEP and other meetings as requested.
• Record data, maintain logs, and monitor attendance daily.
• Perform other duties as needed or similar level tasks.
• Participate in training for third-party reimbursement when required.
