Job summary

Ledgent in San Diego is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager for an immediate temporary assignment to oversee end-to-end payroll processing for about 850 employees using Dayforce in a high-volume environment.

You will ensure compliance with California Wage & Hour laws, support year-end payroll activities, and serve as the Dayforce payroll subject matter expert, collaborating with HR and leadership.

Qualifications

• Direct hands-on Dayforce experience.
• 5+ years of payroll experience.
• Experience managing full-cycle payroll processing.
• Strong payroll tax knowledge.
• Experience with payroll audits and reconciliations.
• W-2 processing experience.
• Strong understanding of California Wage & Hour regulations.
• Advanced Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end payroll processing for approximately 850 employees.
• Process semi-monthly payroll cycles accurately and on time.
• Audit payroll records and identify discrepancies.
• Prepare year-end payroll tax reconciliations.
• Manage W-2 processing and required payroll adjustments.
• Ensure compliance with California Wage & Hour laws.
• Research and resolve payroll-related issues.
• Generate payroll reports and provide data analysis as needed.
• Partner with HR and leadership on payroll-related matters.
• Serve as the Dayforce subject matter expert for payroll functions.
• Support payroll year-end activities and compliance requirements.
