Vaco is partnering with a growing organization to hire an experienced Payroll Processor for a temp-to-hire role in sunny California. You will handle weekly payroll for about 500 employees in a high-volume environment and work hands-on with Workday.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in payroll, is detail-focused, and able to meet weekly deadlines. California union payroll and multi-state experience are a plus. Strong communication and process documentation skills are essential.

• 3+ years of payroll department experience.

Responsibilities

• Process weekly payroll for approximately 500 employees.
• Ensure payroll is processed accurately and on time.
• Review payroll data, employee changes, deductions, and other payroll-related information.
• Assist with payroll discrepancies and employee payroll inquiries.
• Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation.
• Support payroll reporting and reconciliation activities.
• Work closely with a collaborative payroll team.
• Assist with multi-state payroll requirements as needed.
• Support union payroll processing, when applicable.
