Job summary

Acara Solutions in Simi Valley, CA is seeking a Machinist to program, set up and operate CNC machines to produce precision parts and instruments. You will also operate manual lathes and milling machines, performing diverse fabrication tasks that require math, metal property knowledge and careful layout.

The role demands 5+ years’ experience with CNC/manual machining, blueprint interpretation, and Gibbs CAM 2024 proficiency.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent required and 5 years of prior related experience.
Minimum of 5 years manual and CNC machining experience in a high technology manufacturing environment, including setting up machine tools, lathes, and milling machines.
Minimum of 5 years' experience reading/interpreting blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications.
Minimum of 5 years' experience making standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work, tooling, feeds and speeds.

Responsibilities

The primary purpose the Machinist position is to program, setup and operate CNC machines to produce precision parts and instruments.
Operate manual lathes & milling machines and perform a variety of manufacturing operations related to fabrication and machining.
Apply knowledge of mechanics, mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures; perform routine machine maintenance and programming.
Proficient in Gibbs CAM 2024 software with a minimum 5 years' experience.
