Elevant Recruiting is representing an established manufacturer in Torrance, CA seeking a Senior CNC Machinist to set up and operate multi-axis CNC mills and lathes, including 5-axis equipment, to produce production and prototype components from engineering drawings. The role demands precision, problem-solving, and the ability to work independently in a low-volume, high-mix environment.

• Minimum 5 years of experience machining low-volume, highly engineered components.
• Strong experience setting up and operating CNC milling machines, 5-axis preferred.
• At least 1 year writing basic G-code and M-code programs.
• Advanced blueprint reading and GD&T knowledge.
• Experience machining complex components to tight tolerances.

Responsabilidades

• Set up and operate multi-axis CNC mills and lathes, incl. 5-axis milling equipment.
• Machine parts to tolerances as tight as ±2 microns.
• Perform moderately to advanced machine setups in low-volume, high-mix production.
• Read and interpret drawings, GD&T requirements, and machining specs.
• Write, edit, and troubleshoot basic G-code and M-code programs.
• Select cutting tools, speeds, and feeds to optimize performance.
• Perform first-piece inspections and document quality records.
• Operate CMMs and optical measuring systems for inspection.
• Create setup kits and sheets to reduce setup times.
• Mentor junior machinists in setups and tooling techniques.
