Job summary

FMF Parts & Apparel in Rancho Dominguez, CA is seeking a Lead CNC Programmer–Machinist to own the full lifecycle of complex parts, from planning setups to producing precise, high‑quality components.

You will translate blueprints into efficient CNC programs using GibbsCam and CAD/CAM tools, set up mills and lathes, inspect parts with precision tools, and collaborate with engineering to optimize processes. A strong background in GibbsCam and G‑code, plus mentorship skills, are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of CNC machinist and programmer experience.
• Ability to read prints and technical drawings; strong G-code fundamentals.
• Hands-on experience with GibbsCam; familiarity with Mastercam and SolidWorks.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced team environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Translate blueprints and technical drawings into efficient CNC programs using GibbsCam and other CAD/CAM tools (Mastercam, SolidWorks).
• Set up and operate CNC mills and lathes to machine tight-tolerance parts, selecting tooling and dialing in offsets.
• Inspect every feature using precision measuring tools to confirm adherence to specifications.
• Collaborate with engineering and production to troubleshoot issues and refine processes.
• Mentor junior machinists on programming, setups, and best practices.
• Maintain a clean, organized workstation and follow all safety protocols.
• Continuously eliminate waste and improve cycle times and part quality.
