Job summary

Columbia Bank, formerly Northfield Bank, seeks a Supervisor of Teller Operations for the teller portion of Universal Banking training and vault security. Based at a Northfield Bank location expected to rebrand to Columbia Bank in early 2027, this role supports branch goals and daily operations.

Responsibilities: supervise tellers, approve select deposits, reconcile teller sheets, coach staff, and maintain negotiable-item security.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of teller, platform, and supervisory experience.
• High school diploma, GED, or higher.
• Strong knowledge of banking products.
• Sound judgment in decision-making and problem solving.
• Accurate numerical aptitude and attention to detail.
• Strong interpersonal, time management and organizational skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Proficient PC skills; MS Office suite.
• Ability to learn customer needs and introduce them to bank team members.
• Ability to supervise Teller line and mentor staff.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and work weekends.

Responsibilities

• Supervises teller operations, schedules hours and assigns tasks.
• Ensures daily consolidation of teller sheets and resolves problems.
• Maintains teller area security and vault access.
• Approves deposits beyond teller limits.
• Processes returns and items for collection; handles overdrafts as assigned.
• Performs teller activities and participates in new accounts area when needed.
• Handles account adjustments and night drops when applicable.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
