The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is seeking an Advanced Medical Support Assistant to perform a wide range of administrative duties for the Togus Healthcare System.

The role supports clinic profile management, patient data collection, and communications with Veterans and care teams. Responsibilities include handling phone inquiries, data entry in VISTA, encouraging MyHealthyVet usage, and processing referrals.

Qualifikationen

• Substitution of Education: There is no educational substitution for the GS-06 level.

Aufgaben

• Provides administrative support to the assigned section.
• Supports clinics with clinic profile management and collects/updates insurance information.
• Prepares correspondence and memos as needed.
• Screens calls courteously and determines requested information.
• Enters data into VISTA and scans into VISTA Imaging within 24 hours if applicable.
• Promotes Veterans registration for MyHealthyVet (MHV) and kiosks usage.
• Follows procedures for Community Care referrals.
• Acts as initial contact for units, clinics, patients, and call centers.
• Pre-registers Veterans during check-in and updates demographics.
• Schedules and pre-registers appointments and refers urgent visits as needed.
