Job summary

The Amarillo VA Health Care System (AVAHCS) seeks an Advanced Medical Support Assistant (AMSA) to support the VA Community Care Service (VACC). The role focuses on coordinating non-VA care, processing patients, and scheduling appointments across multiple clinics to ensure timely access and high-quality customer service.

The AMSA works within an interdisciplinary care delivery model, performs administrative judgement, reviews clinic access guidelines, and helps maintain effective communication

Qualifications

• Experience providing administrative support in a healthcare setting.
• Ability to coordinate appointments and manage patient processing.
• Strong data review and problem-solving skills in a multidisciplinary environment.

Responsibilities

• Support administrative aspects of non-VA medical care, including access and appointment scheduling.
• Coordinate with clinic staff to ensure patient flow and timely appointments.
• Review medical records and eligibility information to support care coordination and communications.
