Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) in Corsicana, TX seeks an Eligibility Supervisor II to lead the Appeals & Mitigation team within AES. This role hires, mentors, and supervises eligibility staff and coordinates complex appeals to determine program eligibility.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and regulations related to agency programs.
• Understanding of TANF, SNAP, CHIP/CHIP-P and Medicaid eligibility.
• English language required for documenting coaching notes and performance improvement.

Responsibilities

• Attends work on a regular and predictable schedule and performs other duties as assigned.
• Selects, manages, and develops staff through conferences, mentoring, training, and performance appraisal.
• Reads cases, provides policy interpretation, and prepares management reports.
• Plans, coordinates, and monitors service delivery in assigned area with high-volume activities.
• Interprets policies and procedures to staff and external stakeholders.
• Develops and maintains working relationships with agency staff and community partners.
• Willingness to travel up to 30% and work overtime as needed.

Education

Sixty (60) semester hours from an accredited college or university

Degree from an accredited college or university preferred

Two years’ experience as a Texas Works Advisor II or MES II

TIERS and EWMS experience preferred

Experience in customer service environment

Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook

Supervisory or leadership experience preferred
