Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) AES division seeks an Eligibility Advisor I to support the access and eligibility services team. You will interview applicants, verify information, and determine financial eligibility for public assistance programs.

The role requires strong communication, accurate data entry, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Telework may be available alongside on-site duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED is required; college hours preferred.
• Experience: Minimum 1 year customer service experience.
• Ability to learn policy regulations and apply them in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Interview applicants to collect financial and personal information for eligibility.
• Enter data into computer-based eligibility systems and verify accuracy.
• Compute and authorize benefits based on eligibility determinations.
• Process work in compliance with state and federal regulations and timelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
