Job summary

Ascension Health in Destin, Florida, seeks a full-time telemetry monitor tech to observe cardiac rhythms, document changes, and escalate critical findings. The role includes maintaining monitoring units, logs, and supplies, with a focus on accuracy and patient safety.

Responsibilities

• Continuously observe and track cardiac rhythms on telemetry monitors for designated patients, identifying normal baseline patterns as well as dysrhythmias and acute changes.
• Promptly document irregular rhythms or pattern shifts and immediately elevate critical heart rate and rhythm changes to the primary nurse, charge nurse, or attending physician for further medical analysis.
• Inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot telemetry monitoring units and transmitters, ensuring proper functionality, battery replacement, and adequate inventory of monitoring supplies.
• Maintain accurate, timely telemetry logs, strips, and documentation regarding patient rhythm trends, alarm occurrences, and reporting chains in accordance with facility standards.
