Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician to deliver direct and indirect care under RN supervision. The role focuses on improving patient safety, comfort, and satisfaction in a hospital setting, with responsibilities spanning vitals, specimen collection, EKGs, and collaboration with the care team.

Minimum qualifications include a HS diploma/GED and completion of a PCT/CNA/MA program or equivalent, with opportunities for an apprentice pathway.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Completion of one of: Certified Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant or Patient Care Technician program, or Fundamentals of Nursing program, or HMH PCT Apprenticeship.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care as part of the interdisciplinary team.
• Assist with patient safety, comfort and satisfaction.
• Perform clinical tasks including vitals, specimens collection, and EKG per RN direction.
• Maintain proper documentation and equipment readiness.
• Adhere to organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
