Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support direct and indirect patient care under RN supervision. Responsibilities include data collection, basic assessments, and ensuring patient safety and comfort across the care continuum.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and have completed or be eligible for a CNA/MA/PCT program or HMH PCT Apprenticeship. EMT/CMA/other medical backgrounds may also qualify.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Completion of one of: CNA, Medical Assistant, or Patient Care Technician program, or Fundamentals of Nursing program, or HMH PCT Apprenticeship.
• Equivalent medical background experience (e.g., EMT, Home Health Aide, CMA, MA, PCT, CNA) considered.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care based on age-related criteria.
• Document and communicate patient data to RN.
• Demonstrate teamwork within interdisciplinary care.
• Assist with admissions, procedures, and safety measures.
• Maintain equipment readiness and room preparation.
