Job summary

The New Braunfels Chamber seeks an IT Telecommunications Administrator to manage the district voice network and related equipment, including VOIP systems and emergency services. You will supervise telecom staff and coordinate with vendors, while overseeing Erate funding activities and helpdesk support.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in technology or related field and at least three years of telecom experience, with strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Three years of related experience or evidence of appropriate telecommunications/computer skills can substitute for the degree.
• Experience with Cisco Unified Communications Manager VOIP equipment, Unity Connection Emergency Responder, InformaCast, Unified Call Center Manager.
• Experience in Schools and Libraries Program for applying for Erate funding.
• Personal cell phone is required for district business, including after hours.
• Valid Texas Driver’s License or ability to obtain one by start date.

Responsibilities

• Acts as chief administrator of the district voice network and telecom equipment, voicemail, emergency services, and related application software.
• Supervises telecom/data technicians for installation of campus equipment and wiring.
• Files all Erate forms for discounts on telecom, Internet, and internal connections.
• Handles Helpdesk requests related to phones, voicemail, repairs, and replacements.
• Communicates with vendors, monitors contracts and billing, and negotiates vendor contracts and invoices.
• Validates accuracy of invoices for telecom equipment and services and ensures prompt payment.
• Provides training and technical assistance to end-users on telecom equipment and troubleshooting.
• Maintains clear written and oral communications and explains procedures effectively.
• Maintains district records and adheres to records retention policies.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.
