Job summary

Qualifications

Job Overview

Our client is looking for a self-motivated, skilled and experienced Voice over IP (VoIP) Network Engineer to join their dynamic team. As a VoIP Network Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining multi-platform environments. Your expertise in VoIP technologies, network protocols, and system integration will be crucial in ensuring reliable and high-quality voice services across our network. The ideal candidate is a creative problem solver with excellent communication skills and a passion for staying up-to-date with the latest industry trends.This position stipulates strong hands-on technical skills to provide high-level technical services and strategy in a fast paced, multi-faceted and growing hospitality environment.

Primary Responsibilities

• Design and implement VoIP/networking solutions, including hardware, software, and network configurations, to meet business requirements.
• Manage Cyber security of local and remote network infrastructure. This includes planning, designing, testing, implementing and maintaining all aspects of the infrastructure.
• Design & Implementation of routing & switching technologies & platforms.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate VoIP systems with existing network infrastructure, applications, and services.
• Isolate and resolve network related service problems, diagnose and correct problems resulting from component failure and network degradation.
• Establish and Implement network management policies and guidelines to ensure the maximum availability of the client networks.
• Understand hardware and software capacities in order to modify or enhance high-quality network system infrastructure.
• Conduct regular network assessments and capacity planning to anticipate future voice communication needs and recommend improvements.
• Stay abreast of industry trends in order to proactively identify areas for growth, improvement, and development with the capability to implement industry best practices.
• Document network designs, configurations, and procedures, maintaining accurate records for future reference.
• Participate in the on-call rotation to provide timely resolution of critical voice network issues.

Education/Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Network Engineer, specifically focused on Voice over IP technologies.
• In-depth knowledge of VoIP protocols and standards, such as SIP, H.323, RTP, and RTCP.
• Strong understanding of network protocols, including TCP/IP, VLAN, QoS, and routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP).
• Experience with VoIP gateways, session border controllers (SBCs), IP PBX systems, and soft-switches.
• Proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM) and/or other major VoIP platforms.
• Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex voice network issues.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Proactive attitude towards learning and adapting to new technologies and industry developments.
