Job summary

DLR Group is seeking a Telecommunications Designer to design and document telecommunications cabling infrastructure from schematic design through construction administration across diverse building types.

You will prepare detailed telecom plans, coordinate with architects and engineers, and collaborate with clients’ IT staff to define project goals. In-office work is four days per week with Friday flexibility, and travel is required.

Qualifications

• Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification is required.
• At least 5 years’ experience in evaluating/designing telecommunications cabling infrastructure.
• Experience with Building Construction documents and BIM workflows.

Responsibilities

• Develop telecom cabling infrastructure designs from concept through construction.
• Prepare telecom plans and specifications for multiple projects.
• Coordinate telecom design requirements with architecture, structure, MEP, and other disciplines.
• Meet with client IT staff to determine project requirements and goals.
• Travel for site visits and project interviews as needed.
